The Mono Hills are situated directly north of Orangeville
bounded (roughly) by Airport Road to the east, Hwy 10 to the west and hwy 89 to the north.
This location makes it a very accessible distance for commuters to Toronto,
as well as for weekend residents driving up from Toronto.
Mono
is an area of Provincial parks, extensive walking and riding trails, Bruce Trail and the
Niagara Escarpment. Downhill skiing, cross country skiing, horse back riding and miles of
walking trails are all easily accessible. The area also provides excellent hospitals,
schools, shopping and entertainment facilities. Golf is nearby at the Hockley Valley
Resort, Caledon (Devils Pulpit) and surrounding areas. It is in this
area that much of the reforestation of Dufferin County has taken place in the last 70
years, and where the majority of the County Forest is located.
The Hockley Valley and the Hills of Mono are dramatic natural features,
particularly during the time of the fall colours.
