This
historic building, the old Train Station
from Shelburne, was moved onto this site in the 1970s and
re-configured for residential use. All the
original interior was kept intact with 13 foot ceilings, solid wood century
doors, ticket cage, 10 foot floor to ceiling windows and French doors.
The museum quality interior makes this
a one of a kind home. The back deck spans the
width of the house and has 3 walkouts from the
dining, living and main floor bedroom onto the 64
foot long deck for summer enjoyment. A full basement sits under the home and
can be finished for further use. A detached 2 car garage and separate small
barn are located to the east of the home setting. Separate fenced areas
could house small animals or make a perfect veggie garden area. The living
area with family room, dining and kitchen is open
concept with the bedrooms housed at one end with a 2nd floor for 2
additional bedrooms. This is a perfect weekend retreat for nature lovers,
artists or hobbyists as both the land and buildings can support many
activities. It can also continue as a full time home as it is well within
commuting distance to the GTA (approximately 12 minutes north of
Orangeville, 45min. to Brampton and one hour to the airport).
Located close to town for all your shopping needs, schools, newer hospital
and close to Provincial Parks, skiing and golf.
Orangeville remains one of the best kept secrets in Ontario. |
