The
Living Room A traditional room, consciously meant to follow the old world charm of an English gentleman’s cottage, this living area is the height of comfort and elegance. The focal point of the room is the stone cut woodburning fireplace and the built-in cabinetry of reclaimed wood adds to the warm character of the room. The century beams are noticeable on the mantel and overhead on the ceiling. Large gracious windows (with deep wood paneled window frames) look out to the lovely lot with gracious mature tree growth and gardens. |

The
Kitchen Keeping the old and integrating the new is definitely a proven combination in this glorious kitchen. The natural slate tiled floor spans the kitchen and living room areas, keeping the coherence throughout the main floor. The cream coloured cabinetry sparkles with its century reproduction hardware and is complemented by the barn beams on the ceiling, marrying the two time frames. The pièce de résistance is the centre island which has been built from reclaimed pine, measuring 9.5 feet long by 3.5 feet wide and is rich in knocks, dents and wear from previous years of use. Fashioned into new cabinetry, it is simply gorgeous. With its own built in wine rack and doubling as a breakfast bar, it is the centerpiece of the kitchen. There is a walkout to the ample sized deck from the kitchen, further adding to the enjoyment of summer meals. |
