The work of the stonemasons of the past still stand strong and proud in this
home overlooking the rolling hills of Mono. From its wide roof overhang with
numerous decorative brackets to its huge windows with overhead century glass
still in tact, the beauty of the exterior and interior stand out even more
today. The interior has been lovingly restored with its hardwood floors,
original window trim and moulding, high baseboards, fabulous original doors
with hardware and crowned by its beautiful high ceilings. Add to that
flavour of yesteryear all the upgrades which include plumbing, electrical,
heating, windows, roof, septic, well, deck and interior drywall, insulation
and painting. There is no better combination that keeping that which is
timeless and classic and bringing it into the present for more efficient
use. An addition on the rear of the home was built in the l970s and is used
as the family room with its fieldstone fireplace and walkout to the large
two sided deck for viewing the rolling countryside and enjoying a glass of
wine watching the sunset beyond. The 3rd floor attic area which has a dormer
to the east, electrical and original hardwood floors would become added
space when finished, if needed. Perennial gardens, mature trees, and the
“berry patch” are all to be found on this 4.8 acre property. The current
owners harvest the berries yearly and share the bounty with friends and
family. Easy exit for commuters, it is located just south of Highway
89 on Airport road and would be a great spot for a home occupation business. |
